8th Recitation Contest in Szansa
On 24th October 2013 in community centre Szansa in Kowala there was held 8th Recitation Contest under the name: ‘The moral written poem – poetry of Julian Tuwim’. For participation there were invited all primary schools from our community centre and kindergarten from Kowala. In the first stage taking place in 28 centres were selected reciters who faced with poetry of Tuwim.
Reciters started in two categories: oratory – assuming recitation line without the use of props or costumes and acting – enabling the use of props, costumes and stage movements which helped to express the text. Each category was examined in the two age groups: younger classes „0” – „I” and older classes „II” – „III”. Assessment of the performances took the jury: Walentyna Pawelec – a poet, Bożena Nitka – a deputy head of school in Parznice and a Polish teacher, Marzena Zawadzka-Hernik – a manager of the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala.
Participants found in the category of oratory skills demonstrated huge talents and appropriate transmission of emotions and mood of the presented works using only word of mouth. Category acting aroused strong emotions, especially prepared costumes and props were part of it. Students had to cope with the synchronization of text and movement and skilfully choose a prop that doesn’t obscure the contest of presented line.
At a time when the evaluator was held, guests and participants watched the staging of the competition bringing closer the life and work of Tuwim by students from Public Secondary Junior School in Parznice.
The jury awarded six participants while this year’s winners were:

— First place – Karol Kazimierczyk (PSP Mlodocin Mniejszy)
— Second place – Kamila Orzechowska (PSP Kowala)
— Third place – Julia wasilak (Community centre „Sunshine”)
