The castle in Pułtusk

On 1st October there was organized a group of forty participants of the project realized by Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Kowala who started trip to Pułtusk with the intent to gain valuable knowledge and new skills. The aim of the expedition was the castle and Polonia House. Among the undoubted attraction of this trip there was a guided tour of the castle, participation in a lecture on good behaviour at the table which ended with a genuine examination and gondola ride. Weather and humour was good so we didn’t miss nothing so we could told that the expedition was a success.

The origins of Pułtusk drown in the darkness of the past. The castle is located in the immediate vicinity of the place where once there was a crossing of the Narew. So probably there was a guard city. In the 13th century castle and huge area around of today’s Pułtusk was handed to bishops from Płock. Since that time, more than six hundred years, they had ruled the castle, styling themselves princes of pułtusk. There were played large and small events, plays on a national scale and private affairs, potitical turmoils of the warm and peace.

Castle survived, among other things, the war with the Teutonic Order, the Swedish Deluge, partitions and two wars.

Sometimes happened that castle was destroyed during the wars as in the 17th century during Swedish invasion when it was devastated and partially burned. But each time was rebuilt to enjoy eyes of all who pass by its majestic walls. Now, when there is placed hotel, it was turbulent climate of the past combined with modern decor and the highest standards of service, determine about the uniqueness of this place. Today the castle in which there is a hotel is the property of the Association ‘Polish Community’. This former residence of the bishops and the surrounding areas was transferred to Polonia House the decision of 27 July 1974, the castle was rebuilt in the Renaissance style and officially opened its doors on 16 July 1989. Behaviour at the table is an art. form and many of its mysteries and everything about it told us the specialist. During the lecture Mr Jarosław was the ruler or platter, glasses, melaza, plates and sparkled with wit and encouraged everyone to apply the principles of good manners, skills of actors and mainly a detailed knowledge.

Cruise castles gondola is an unforgettable which participants could experience and some even tried to force the control over gondola and it ended up with any disaster.
