Active 2013

For the fourth time a group of Active went on an integrative trip in recognition of activity in a school year 2012-2013. Unusual teenagers from Kowala commune went on an adventure meeting to Świętokrzyskie Mountains. Engagement in social life and voluntary and distinctive grades at school or in sport is a reason to notice a young inhabitant of our commune and show him that this attitude is appreciated, accepted and worth distinguishing.

At the beginning there was a tender good bye with parents and workers of the centre. The weather was beautiful when the group appeared in Huta Szklana. The sun didn`t discourage young, ambitious teenagers from playing in Middle Ages settlement or discovering in a crazy pace a hidden treasure during questing. There was a record broken in a jump through line-skipping-rope. 61 jumps of girls was the answer to 60 jumps of boys. There were also those who wanted to break in a wooden horse or those who mistook the tail with the fringe.

It was nice to joke with a blacksmith and a Carpenter, to be afraid of a herbalist, to listen to a witch to what she was talking about or to guess what a leather-worker does. Maybe he is rhyming, isn`t he? The accomodation for the night, cooking together, workshops about sculpturing balloon animals, games, night talks took place in a youth hostel in Huta Stara. The second day was dominated by a walk through Avenue of Miniatures in Krajno. Now we can say that the youth visited almost the whole world and even they moved in time several times. In one afternoon they visited the building of the Opera House in Sydney, Great Chinese Wall, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Grande Arche in Paris, Coloseum in Rome, Saint Peter`s Square in Vatican, Branderburg Gate in Berlin, Niagara Waterfalls, Cheops Pyramid in Giza, Etna volcano, and Wailing Wall in Jerusalem or Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dabi – the most expensive hotel in the world and many many others. They were tired but happy when they came back to Kowala, so they can change everything for better and wiser. The trip was organized by the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala within the project of Supporting and Promotion of Voluntary in Kowala commune in 2013.
