‘Stępocianki’ in Iłża in folk
On 15th June 2013 there was IXth Retrospective of Cultural output of settlements of Radomski district in Iłża. Amazingly beautiful, sunny weather were accompanying the celebration, and participants could admire folk culture, unusually rich and alive thanks to many folk bands.
Similarly to previous editions, also this year there were several vocal, dancing and folk teams. At the beginning the audience could admire artists from social welfare in Wierzbica and teenagers` band from Wolanów, which has a very rich dancing and vocal repertoire. Most of the teams were vocal teams dominated by ladies i.e. Stępocianki from Kowala, Gozdowianki from Gózd, Czerwone Korale from Jedlińsk, Kalina from Marianowice, Zakrzew commune, and with the same applause Kontrast which operated at the Town Cultural Centre in Pionki. ‘Stępocianki’ from Kowala commune which is led by Mrs. Elżieta Kiraga had a presentation which took into consideration both folk songs and modern sketch about experiences of Hela Kokosińska. The band was cheered on by the village mayor of Kowala commune with a wife. Teams from Wolanów, Gózd, Zakrzew, Pakosław and a team led by Mrs. Alicja Siara from Bartodzieje which is friends with Kowala commune took part in the retrospective. Occasional diplomas were given to participants for taking part in the retrospective.
