A family meeting ‘Sober is trendy’ in Młodocin Mniejszy
There was a family meeting called ‘Sober is trendy’ on 26th May in Młodocin Mniejszy. On Sunday afternoon in the Primary School villagers met to celebrate Mother`s Day, but mainly to prove that we could celebrate with the oldest and the youngest members of the family and closer and further neighbours. Not only did the meeting put on the family but also promoted health and sober style of spending free time
We regretted that the sun was late for the meeting and some clouds with rain came instead. Planned colourful parade which was supposed to go through the village between beautifully decorated fences, should have been the introduction and live invitation to take part in the celebration. Action ‘Flowers on fences’ was successful, however it is a pity that not everybody had a chance to look at the celebration. Organizers were not afraid of a bad weather and the parade was organized at school, with the audience of parents and other guests. At the head there were wonderful, colourful as birds pre-schoolers, then a little bit older school stars, later on Ladies from Senior`s Club and participants of the meeting. We could learn from the posters that: ‘Family is a key to happiness’, ‘Love cannot disappear in family’, ‘Family as cradle of the most beautiful values’, ‘Mother`s heart is a miracle of creation’, ‘Mother loves for nothing’, ‘Gold heart as gold apple – tastes very good’. The meeting was started by the Head Master Grażyna Janisiak-Wiśnioch. She greatly welcomed the village-mayor with his wife, the commune secretary with his wife, councillors, village administrators, representatives of the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala and all parents, children and inhabitants of Mlodocin Mniejszy, Augustów, Rożki and surroundings. Just after the Village-mayor`s lecture, children came into possession of the room and charmed, made people laugh and amused everybody with their shows. Krakowiaczek, dances with pompons, humorous cabaret, smart cats…. It was going on. After the youngest, a little bit older inhabitants presented their musical talents. ‘Stępocianki’ sang in a folk style. The next attraction was capoeira show, which roots are in African and Brasilian art of fight, which forms are rhythmical, acrobatic and focus on kicks. The essence of capoeira are elements of dancing which influence on fluency and unpredictability of attacks. The shows were finished with a short training, where pupils together with teachers could turn somersaults, everybody loved it. During the meeting everybody could use from tasting baking, grilled delicacies, bigos and lavishly stacked table. There were many attractions for the youngest participants of the Family Meeting such as: horse riding, games with a clown while children had their faces painted in fabulous colours and artistic tattoos, then they were running for balloon animals so as to play with them, playing with klanza sheet, or making enormous soap bubbles, so big that a creator could hide in them. A very funny Mister Clown Iwonka hugged the little ones to his heart, bigger to his hat, and Miss Tygryska Mateuszka was keeping track of her tail and was chasing it and smiling at children, to older ones was winking. Everybody was playing, turning that they didn`t notice that the sun started shining, clouds disappeared and it was very nice in the family atmosphere. Two competitions were resolved , one of them was about the choice of the most beautiful heart made by a pupil for his mum, the second one was to draw a happy family, which was participating in the Family Meeting. A lot from the happy ball, which was a vase from head master`s office, was drew by an orphan, who seemed to be changed by the funny Clown Tygrysek. There were 54 all registered families, and the happy family was the number 45. Additional attraction was the football match, between a team of ‘Sons’ and a team of ‘Fathers’. As a result of the competition ‘Sons’ won with “Fathers 4:2. Competitors and spectators were happy because of a professional referee. The prize, a statue of a Mother, made by a gifted artist, an inhabitant of the commune, which was handed in the captain of the team by the representative of meeting organizers and a smart observer could notice that she had also so much fun as those who won. Among many attractions a fireplace and flat cakes which were kneading by professionals caught attention. It is a very rare delicacy that is why it is so attractive. Most part of the meeting took the show of a group ‘Five’ from Radom, which music was a melody for a dancing game. Musicians deserved for great thanks, because of spending their time for free. Everybody who was listening to them, legs were dancing, some of people lost their shoes, so as the music put them in such a movement. At the end everybody could see the attraction of the evening, Theatre of Fire, which ended the Family Meeting. Guests were delighted with abilities of those who were turning the lamps. With the music playing rings of fire were moving and creating a wonderful spectacle.
