Responsible seller

On 13th March 2013 in the building of the County Office in Kowala there was a training for sellers and owners of alcohol selling points called ‘ Responsible seller’. The training was conducted by Mrs. Zofia Lemańska – a lecturer of Study of Social Prevention in Cracow. The training is one of the educational actions taken by the commune directed to sellers of alcohol products which aim is to limit the accessibility to alcohol drinks and to respect the prohibition of selling alcohol to people below 18.

Programme of the training included:

  1. legal aspects of selling(system of permissions, required information to place in points of selling alcohol, paying fees for using of selling alcohol, criteria of age and stage of sobriety as conditions of selling alcohol to clients, prohibition of selling to pawn or on credit)
  1. basic information about alcohol problems with the respect of continuous contacts of a man with alcohol.
  2. behaving under the influence of alcohol – describing problem and troubles connected with drunk clients
  3. rules of placing advertisements of alcohol drinks in selling points
  4. paying attention to damages caused by drinking alcohol by juveniles and pregnant women
  5. Rules of responsible selling of alcohol – rules which enable sellers to work

During the training modern educational tools were used (DVD film, multimedia presentation). Getting appropriate certificate is a confirmation of taking part in the training.

Art.41 Paragraph 2 of the Resolution  concerning bringing up in sobriety and counteracting alcohol which put the duty on alcohol sellers the action of training shop owners and sellers in the range of keeping appropriate actions (especially while selling alcohol to teenagers and drunk people). This action is among the widely understood education concerning counteracting alcoholism. The training was organized within Commune Programme of Prevention and Counteracting Alcoholism in Kowala Commune.
