Fifth edition of the project “Social assistance often very efficient”.

60 people took part in the conference. Among invited guests were: Voyt of the Kowala Commune, Mr Sławomir Stanik, Head of the Association of Local Initiatives SIL Mr Andrzej Bartosiak, Ms Agnieszka Wieczorek- job adviser,  Barbara Strzelecka- therapist of addicted and co-dependent people, Elżbieta Witecka- trainer of the self-help groups, families’ assistants.

Different fields of work with the customer realised by Local Activity Program and individual social contracts were presented during the meeting. Coordinator of the project, Anna Wnukowska came out as first and summed up realisation of the fifth edition of system project as part of Operation Program Human Capital Priority VII Measure 7.1 Submeasure7.1.1. ‘Development and popularization of active integration by social assistance centres”. In 2012 help was given to 30 unemployed people, who don’t stay in employment, searching for job, benefiting from social aid in understanding of act of law about social assistance.

Ms Magdalena Wesołowska, family’s social assistant,  told about innovative methods of work with family. Act of law about family support and alternative care system imposed on communities a duty of helping malfunctive families with children. This help is realised by activities of family’s social assistant, who have to support family in fighting against difficulties connected with care and raising juvenile children. Assistant will make fulfilling of the social role easier in order to bring about reaching basic life stabilisation and not to let settling children out of the family in agencies and substitute families happen. If children will end up under the substitute care, role of the assistant is activity towards possibly fastest return to family.

Next speaker was therapist,  Ms  Barbara Strzelecka, who presented addicted and co-dependent people’s problems, which are observed in group led by her from May to December 2012. She told that addicted people have no awareness of their illness. They know that they drink too much, too often and in inappropriate situations, they plan it in another way, but simultaneously they find credible excuses for their way of consuming alcohol and believe deeply that they can control their drinking.

Whereas   trainer of the self-help groups, Ms Elżbieta Witecka, told about way of working with the group of addicted and unemployed people at various social status, among them were men and women, mothers and fathers, who perform various social roles in their environment and families. Group consisted of people, who recently are searching for job, women who have problems with shaping their private life, with protective-educational insufficiency causing by losing control on their emotions.

The attention was attracted by statement of the representative of commune Project Partner, Andrzej Bartosiak (SIL Association in Radom). He referred to social economics, which constantly bears marks of the novelties and non-standard activities. It was pleasant to hear words of recognition said in reference to the Local Social Welfare Centre.
