Agreement of hearts- Volunteer Day.
5th of December is a special day, giving us opportunity to thank and appreciate role of volunteers in society’s life. It all took place during the ceremony, which was held in Junior High School in Parznice, where guests were welcomed and treated to by Mr Jacek Jóźwiak, headmaster of the school. For the third time, the meeting was organised by the Local Social Welfare Centre in partnership with the Junior High School. Among the participants were adult volunteers from the Volunteer Club in the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala, volunteers from the Primary School and representatives of school voluntary service circles from commune’s area. Bravely working in project Super Paczka, Super W, were also present. Ceremony was started by headmaster of Junior High School in Parznice, who addressed friendly words of acclaim to heroes of the meeting. Next point of the event was presentation of the joint activities of volunteers towards local community up to now. Collection of the money carried out in the Primary School towards families in need helped by project Szlachetna Paczka was entrusted with solemnity. Whole meeting was graced by the artistic-vocal performance of pupils from the Junior High School in Parznice. The climax of the meeting abounded in diplomae, gifts, a lot of warmth and acknowledgments from head of the Local Social Welfare Centre in Kowala for all of the volunteers, who bravely warm other people’s hearts with their warmth and are ready to sacrifice their time for multiplying of the good.
After the official part of the event it was time of joint fun under the guidance of Ms Beata Domaszewicz from Backyard Angels Association and sweet meal. And the one, who thinks that fun can’t teach, is wrong. Volunteers’ fun was of very creative nature. Volunteers are always in good shape and ready to work, which was proved by promotional mottoes, created by them during one of games. Here they are:
- Voluntary service is a holy thing. The little and the big should remember it.
- It’s great to be a volunteer, it’s great to live with him. Voluntary service tickles the heart, let us be as many as possible!
- Volunteer, it is known, loves, teaches etc.
- Volunteer is a plucky little fellow and he’s very good friend.
- Voluntary service is for all wanting to help other people.
- I respect my life and I want to help other people.
- Don’t be a fool- love voluntary service!
- Voluntary- great thing, it brings help and fun.
Unusual, nice, joyful and friendly atmosphere reigned during the celebration. It lacked only one thing- you, reader. Voluntary service is like a wind in sails, Sun melting the ice, voluntary service is for everyone. We hope that it will be more of us next year!
